Serving Our Community

If you are looking for a way to serve students in our community, Wendell HS is looking for volunteers to help with “Reality Town” on the morning of April 22.

Students will experience what it’s like to budget money by working through several different stations where they pay for transportation, housing, food, etc.

The school needs about 20 more adults to help at the various stations.

If you would like to help out, call the High School office (208) 536-2100.

Attention Bakers!

Wendell Middle School is having a Family night on April 15th and needs cakes for that cake walk.

Each cake will be paired with a new book, and instead of stepping on numbers, the participants will step on quotes from favorite books that they’ll have to read along with the announcer to find out if they’ve won. It will be a traditional cake walk with a reading “twist”.

If you would like to donate a cake, or would like more information, please contact Dan Kuka. Dan’s contact info is available from the church office.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Here are a couple of announcements for this week:

1. Following the worship service this Sunday, middle and high school students are invited to join us for lunch and the Alpha Youth Series. This is a video and discussion series intended to give students an opportunity to ask and engage with some of the most fundamental questions of life and faith. For more information contact Raylene, Kevin, or Pastor Shaun.

Here is a trailer

2. With Annette’s upcoming retirement we are still looking for someone to serve as the new part-time Administrative Assistant here at the church. If you are interested in more information, or know of someone who may be interested, have them contact Pastor Shaun for a job description.

Retirement Reception and New Opening

On April 11th we will be celebrating the many faithful years Annette has served our congregation with a retirement reception following worship. More news on that will be forthcoming.

Thanks so much Annette!

Related to that, we’re looking for a new part-time Administrative Assistant. If you know of anyone who may be interested, have them contact Pastor Shaun for the job description.

(While not officially on the job description, they should be able to endure an occasional nerdy conversation with “you-know-who”…but he is usually willing to provide home-roasted coffee to help ease the pain.)
