Our Annual Chili and Cornbread feed with a Dessert Auction will be Sunday, November 1st after the worship service. Please bring a yummy dessert to auction off! This year’s Dessert Auction proceeds will be used to replenish the Hirrel Memorial Fund which was used to pay off the roof loan.
This coming Tuesday (6:30 at the church), the Men’s Bible study will begin a new study on the New Testament book Hebrews.
Come join us for a time of prayer, Bible study, and encouragement…and maybe an occasional rabbit trail.
Because of the installation service this afternoon, there will be no youth group tonight. We plan to return to our normal schedule on the 18th at 6pm.
Here is a reminder about the events on Sunday:
- We are returning to public worship at our usual times. Sunday school is at 9:15 and worship begins at 10:30.
- The installation service is at 4pm. This will be a joint installation service along with Valley Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Hazleton. Because of all of the COVID disruptions, they have also been waiting to have their pastor installed. This service will also be live-streamed on our YouTube channel.
If you would like to bring something to share after the service, please feel free to bring cookies, cupcakes, or finger foods that can be individually served.
The Session met this evening (10/5) to review our response to the recent COVID exposure. Especially since this is the first time it has happened in our congregation, our desire is to keep learning as we go forward. We also wanted to be sure we understood the details of this exposure so that we could make any adjustments that seemed best.
The explanation is below, but we have decided that we will resume in-person worship this Sunday, October 11th.
The person who contracted COVID has not been in worship since September 20th and their symptoms did not appear until days after that time. After the 20th, their contact with others was was very limited.
We still think it is wise to keep a two-week window in place after an exposure. But based on the details of this case, we think we should take into account that the person was not present in worship on the 27th. That means that by suspending in-person worship this past Sunday (10/4), we will have essentially exceeded our two-week protocol.
As we return this Sunday, let’s renew our efforts to keep our safety guidelines. These will be in the bulletin this Sunday and made available again on all of our online platforms.
Thank you for your ongoing prayers, and for your patience as we try to navigate this season as wisely as we can, but trusting in the care of our Savior.
Good morning everyone. Don’t forget that our worship is all online this morning.

Monday evening the Session will be meeting to review our current COVID policies and discuss how they relate specifically to our recent exposure.
Since this is such a strange season, we want to make sure that we are doing our best to respond wisely, and adjusting appropriately as we learn more.
Please pray for the Session and that all of us together would walk in wisdom and with grace.
This morning during the Pacific Northwest Presbytery meeting, Shaun completed the final portion of his transfer exam into the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC). All went well and Shaun will be formally installed as our pastor on Sunday, October 11th.
More information on that service will follow.
Due to a recent COVID exposure, we will be suspending our in-person worship service this Sunday and moving to an online-only service.
We have recently learned that one person who has been confirmed to have COVID attended worship on September 20th. They later began experiencing symptoms, were tested, and received the results yesterday.
Most importantly, they appear to be recovering without severe complications, but please pray for them as they continue to recover.
Further, the Session continues to gather details and timelines of the exposure so that we can do our best to respond wisely for the sake of our congregation.
This is all new (and difficult) territory and we appreciate your patience. Please also stay tuned to this site and/or our Facebook page for updates. The Deacons will also be contacting their phone lists to let people know about suspending our in-person worship service.
As always, if you have any questions please contact Pastor Shaun or any other member of the Session.
This month we are starting our new small group ministry we are calling Growth Groups. These are groups that will meet to pray, study the Bible, and deepen our love and service to one another.
There are two groups starting here in Wendell, one down the road in the Clear Lakes neighborhood, and a group in the Twin Falls area. A sign up is in the narthex where you can see the leader’s name and when that group plans to meet.
Please be sure to sign up this Sunday or contact the church so that the group leaders can prepare.
All of our groups are starting out by working through a study called “the Gospel Centered Life”. If you would like to purchase a study guide, you can do that here. You can also find these on Amazon if that is your preferred outlet. This is a link for the leader’s guide. It’s unclear why the regular guide is not showing up on the New Growth webpage, but everything you need is in the leader’s guide as well.
***** If you are not able to purchase a study guide but would like to participate in a group, please let us know at the church office and we will make sure you get a study guide. *****
