If you are looking for a way to serve students in our community, Wendell HS is looking for volunteers to help with “Reality Town” on the morning of April 22.
Students will experience what it’s like to budget money by working through several different stations where they pay for transportation, housing, food, etc.
The school needs about 20 more adults to help at the various stations.
If you would like to help out, call the High School office (208) 536-2100.
Wendell Middle School is having a Family night on April 15th and needs cakes for that cake walk.
Each cake will be paired with a new book, and instead of stepping on numbers, the participants will step on quotes from favorite books that they’ll have to read along with the announcer to find out if they’ve won. It will be a traditional cake walk with a reading “twist”.
If you would like to donate a cake, or would like more information, please contact Dan Kuka. Dan’s contact info is available from the church office.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Here are a couple of announcements for this week:
1. Following the worship service this Sunday, middle and high school students are invited to join us for lunch and the Alpha Youth Series. This is a video and discussion series intended to give students an opportunity to ask and engage with some of the most fundamental questions of life and faith. For more information contact Raylene, Kevin, or Pastor Shaun.
Here is a trailer
2. With Annette’s upcoming retirement we are still looking for someone to serve as the new part-time Administrative Assistant here at the church. If you are interested in more information, or know of someone who may be interested, have them contact Pastor Shaun for a job description.
On April 11th we will be celebrating the many faithful years Annette has served our congregation with a retirement reception following worship. More news on that will be forthcoming.
Thanks so much Annette!
Related to that, we’re looking for a new part-time Administrative Assistant. If you know of anyone who may be interested, have them contact Pastor Shaun for the job description.
(While not officially on the job description, they should be able to endure an occasional nerdy conversation with “you-know-who”…but he is usually willing to provide home-roasted coffee to help ease the pain.)
Baby Shower We are having a “long distance” baby shower for Brittany Evers and baby Jorja! We will be collecting gifts until February 14 when they will be gathered together in a large gift basket. Later when Brittany and Jorja are healthy and back to “normal” we will have some kind of tea to celebrate together. If you would like to give money towards a larger item, please contact Deaneen Kuka (208-404-1104) or Charleen Stouder (208-539-3888).
5th Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner is Tuesday, February 16th, 6 p.m. at the church. Mark your calendars. The Men’s Bible Study is providing this time of fellowship and food for the congregation.
There will not be youth group this coming Sunday (Feb 7th).
January 30th @ Magic Mountain (https://magicmountainresort.com/)
Bring $18 to purchase your lift ticket (good for 2 hours of tubing) and any other cash you want for snacks.
We’ll hit the tubing hill from 2-4pm. Tubing is first-come-first-serve but it slows down closer to closing time at 4.
For those traveling from Wendell, we’ll leave the church at 12:30. Otherwise meet at Magic Mountain by 1:45.
Contact Pastor Shaun if you plan to attend and/or if you need to work out a ride.
Parents and others are welcome to join in on the fun.
There is a lift to drag you and the tube to the top of the hill!
